I Was A University Drop Out
I know it sounds like a cliché to be the university drop out that then go’s on to chase his dreams and passions… but its true!
I went to university to study Accounting & Psychology all whilst I was cleaning swimming pools as a part time job. Life was pretty mundane, I really wasn’t enjoying what I was studying and wasn’t looking forward to the road ahead.
Well after a year, I realised that university wasn’t the best fit for me, so I decided to take a gamble and chase my passion… so I headed to film school.
Film School
It was here that I met a fellow minded creator and a real true friend. From there our very first video production business was born!
My Experience Level Exploded!
Up until this point I had only been shooting and editing videos on the side but once I fully committed, my experience level exploded!
It was here over the next 10 years that I learnt how to use After Effects, properly shoot videos, direct and create Animations for paying clients.
Eventually growing our business into one of the top video production companies here in Perth.
I Only Thought I'd Make $100
It was here that I started my Flat Pack FX YouTube Channel and my life completely changed. I never really thought YouTube would become a full time hustle. When I launched my first product online I only thought it would make $100 (not generate multiple 6 figures!).
The truth is Flat Pack FX has become more than a way to teach creators how to create videos… it has become the outlet for my passions, interests and community.
If I managed to do all of this whilst working full-time, who knows what you can achieve!
